Letter Dated September 15, 2007 Dear Friends, After having experienced many, many security check points between Orlando Sanford Airport in the US and Storuman Gunnarn Airport in Sweden, I wondered whether anyone really wanted me on this journey. But all that changed in an instant as I arrived in the lobby of the Storuman Gunnarn Airport. There, waiting for me, was someone who really wanted me to be there – my translator and friend and helper and Elder in the Gunnarn Church. Her name is Inger Andersson and it was great to see that I was welcome somewhere. Her husband, Robert (my ski mobile buddy) had come to pick me up at that same airport, but one day too early. Men somehow have problems with details like that – it takes 2 days to fly east and 1 day to fly west around here. My condo atop the Church was a welcome in itself. Thirty hours is a long time to be transported between continents inside a cylinder with wings. These gracious people spent days cleaning floors and rooms and bathrooms and even the kitchen sink. They equipped my refrigerator with stuff to survive. In addition, they turned up the heat in the radiators - it is 41 degrees outside now. Chatrine and Staffan from Lycksele brought my missionary friend’s car up here for me to use until the snow arrives. It was parked behind the Church – just where I always park it. And it started right up this morning. I am so very happy to be here. This Church belongs to Christ, so I have to be careful of it. But He is strong to complete the good work He has begun in them here. Please pray for 60 of the finest people that worship Jesus Christ in this place. Pray that going to Church is only part of the relationship Christ desires along our journey. He wants to talk and be heard and listen and be valued daily. God’s Word is so full of wonder. I sense you understand their needs here even thought it is such a long distance from Florida and from Maryland or from wherever you are. Vivid is my memory of being prayed for in the Bookstore of Northland Church by Pastor Steve Bruton and his crew - or at that evening service in Calvary Baptist Church in Maryland with Pastor Don Reynolds – or at Mt. Dora Northland with Pastor Bill Chapman. Thank you all for sending me here. I will be here for 6 months. Think SNOW! Maybe you could think HEAT too, along the way. In Christ, George D. Wilson |
